Synopsis

From the playwrights of the internationally successful comedy Sex Please, We’re Sixty! comes a hilarious musical adaptation filled with senior romance, mistaken intentions, menopausal mischief, and one very troublesome little pill.

The fun begins when three lively women check into Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast, each looking forward to a relaxing getaway. Instead, they find themselves the focus of the relentless romantic attention of Bud Davis—better known as “Bud the Stud.” Confident that age has only improved his appeal, Bud sizes up his newest romantic prospects in the lively number “Checking Out the Chicks.”

Rose Cottage owner Mrs. Stancliffe  and her friend Henry have had a relationship for over twenty years, but Henry wants more. Bud is convinced that all Henry  needs is a little more “Panache” to win her over.

Meanwhile, Henry has developed an untested pill, “Venusia,” designed to increase the libido of menopausal women, hoping it may help. When Bud gets his hands on it, he decides it may give him an advantage in his romantic pursuits. Unfortunately for Bud, the women uncover his deception and unite in “Buddy Dudly Done Us Wrong,” determined to give him a taste of his own medicine.

Their plan works a little too well. Soon, Bud and an unsuspecting Henry are caught in a whirlwind of switched pills, heightened desires, menopausal moments, romantic confusion, and laugh-out-loud consequences in “Why Do I Feel So Fat?”

Amid the mayhem, the characters also begin to wonder whether they are simply chasing romance—or may have finally found something real—as expressed in “Is He the Love of My Life?”
