Synopsis

David and John are two cosmetic company executives with one simple plan: send their wives on a shopping spree in New York and escape to Oakfield Golf & Country Club for a blissfully wife-free weekend of golf. What could possibly go wrong?

Enter their formidable new boss, Ms. Hutchison, whose golden rule is terrifyingly clear: any employee caught on a golf weekend without his wife may also find himself without a job. Suddenly, David and John’s relaxing getaway turns into a full-blown workplace panic with only one possible solution — find temporary weekend wives before the boss starts swinging.

Desperate to save their careers, they recruit Tina, the receptionist, to pose as John’s wife. Unfortunately, that leaves poor John with the only available role left: David’s wife. As John frantically switches between male and female personas, the country club becomes a pressure cooker of mistaken identities, close calls, comic deception, and marital mayhem.

Just when the charade seems like it might hold together, everything unravels. The hotel phone system goes down. Tina enjoys a little too much champagne. The real wives arrive to surprise their husbands. And suddenly, David and John’s “harmless” golf weekend is buried deep in the rough.

Whose Wives Are They Anyway? is a fast-paced, built-for-big-laughs comedy for community theatres, dinner theatres, and companies looking for a strong female-led cast, one manageable country club setting, sharp comic timing, physical comedy, mistaken identities, and big laugh-out-loud payoff. This riotous comedy of errors proves that in golf, business, and marriage, the truth has a funny way of landing right where you least want it.

"It's packed with more chaos, curveballs and laughs than a game of twister!" - Susan Parker
